What are Affirmations? |
Affirmations are positive statements we say to ourselves with the intention of manifesting positive changes in our lives. Affirmations can be an excellent way to replace negative thoughts and feelings with empowering self beliefs. Try to feel the emotion and visualize what you are affirming. By using positive affirmations, you can change any negative chatter in your mind into something more positive. It is always suggested to use the present tense, not the future, as you want to visualize yourself already having what you are affirming, you want your mind to know it has already happened. Don't use negatives in an affirmation and keep them short and specific. Always try to believe in what you are saying and by repeating them over and over again you will soon start to believe them to be absolutely correct. It is a good idea to set aside a specific time of the day, perhaps around the time when you are meditating. The affirmations you choose will depend upon which area of your life you feel needs improving.
